Child as Labour

Must read by every parent... 👏👏👏👏

Please read...... News letter from School principal.....

I opened today's morning newspaper and found several leaflets all calling out for enrollment into Summer Camps for Children. There were several advertisements inside the newspaper as well. A quick glance of these summer camp offerings is all about Spoken English, Abacus, Midbrain Activation, Increasing memory power, Memorizing techniques, Personality development starting from 3 year old children, Robotics for Class 5 students and so on. There were few for sports and music as well. I remember a parent asking me in one of my career counselling session as to how his son who just finished his exams the day before is sleeping till 7 am and wanted my advice on which class he should enrol. Thinking about it I guess we have lost our mind completely. Summer vacation was something kids really looked forward to in the past but Iam not sure if the same can be said now for a vast majority. Why can't a kid sleep a bit extra, play with his/her friends in the apartment, eat well, rest well, visit relatives/friends and more importantly just being the kids they are supposed to be. If they are really interested in a class let them join but this summer camp craze is heights and really puts so much pressure on the kids even during vacation. I really look forward to my son's vacation not for anything else but for those few extra hours I get to spend with him.The best personality development trainer for the kids can only be their parents and if at all we really want to give them a good time, try and check if you can bargain some time from your schedule and spend that time may be playing a game together or having fun by what our kids would like to do. When I see a kid speaking like a grown up adult it just scares me and there's nothing to be proud about.

Every child has a right to be away from tuitions, extra coachings, summer camps having various activities.
They have right to sleep late, watch movies, cartoons, play endlessly, visit places and just be at home.
LET EVERY CHILD KNOW A TRUE MEANING OF SUMMER HOLIDAYS🤗😊👍

Happiness of life

A story for the night

Superb one....Worth reading

Once upon a time, there lived a King who, despite his luxurious lifestyle, was not happy at all.
One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King; Why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy?

The King asked the servant, 'Why are you so happy?'

The man replied, 'Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don't need too much - just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies.'

The king sought the advice of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the story, the advisor said, 'Your Majesty, the servant has not yet joined "The 99 Club".'

'The 99 Club? And what is that?' the King inquired.

The advisor replied, 'To truly know what The 99 Club is, just place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this servant's doorstep.'

When the servant saw the bag, he let out a great shout of joy... so many gold coins. He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were only 99 coins.

He wondered, 'What could've happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!'

He looked everywhere, but that final coin was elusive. Finally he decided that he was going to work harder than ever to earn that 100th gold coin.

From that day, the servant was a changed man. He was overworked, grumpy, and blamed his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin.

And he had stopped singing while he worked.

Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. The advisor said, 'Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club.'
He continued, 'The 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never content, because they're always wanting that extra 1, saying to themselves:
"Let me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life."

We can be happy with very little in our lives, but the minute we're given something bigger and better, we want more ...and even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, as the price for our growing needs and desires.

That's "The 99 Club"...

Acceptance of things to change life

*Acceptance*

When we don't accept an undesired event, it becomes *Anger*;
when we accept it, it becomes *Tolerance.*

When we don't accept uncertainty, it becomes *Fear*;
when we accept it, it becomes *Adventure.*

When we don't accept other's bad behaviour towards us, it becomes *Hatred;*
when we accept it, it becomes *Forgiveness.*

When we don't accept other's Success, it becomes *Jealousy;* when we accept it, it becomes *Inspiration.*

*Acceptance* is the key to handling life well.

That's the Spirit of life change - sapana

Sapna Vyas Patel – then and now
Many teenagers are over-weight and so was Sapna Vyas Patel weighing at 86 kgs. She was least interested to lose weight and blamed her genes for her weight gain. “Taunts and barbs used to hurt me but not enough to spur me into action.” said Sapna. Then one day she realized that being over-weight was way too damaging than she thought. An episode at the ice-cream parlour where she was assumed as the mother to her toddler niece left her disheartened. She was just 19. She realized that she looked older than she was because of the extra weight. Moreover, her dressing was baggy and shabby to cover up her bulge. This added to her woes. “I would pick up the basic garments, take them to the changing room and struggle to fit into them. I used to feel sad when I had to put them back.” This sounds like you and me, isn’t it? She couldn’t fit into the trendy clothes so had to pick the ones that would fit her. This made her appearance even scruffier.

Sapna Vyas Patel – 33 Kgs lighter
She started her weight loss journey in 2009 with a crash diet. “I began my weight loss with a crash diet. I lost initially but was irritated and hungry most of the time. The weight came back in no time.” So the learning for her was that crash diets do not work. For a long term weight loss benefit, one needs to change their lifestyle. One needs to follow portion size, diet control and regular exercise. Point taken! “In 2011, I started reading up on nutrition, diet control and workouts. I started working out and watching what I ate. Soon I started to see the kilos drop. The more weight I lost, the more confident I became.” People didn’t take her quest for weight loss and fitness seriously. Friends used to call her out for junk food but she used to refuse. You can call her headstrong or focused, entirely up to you. But she religiously followed the diet and exercise routine. “I focused on fat reduction and body sculpting. One hour of walking and weight training worked wonders for me. I successfully reduced weight without stretch marks, lose skin, dark circles and other side effects.”

Sapna Vyas Patel – working out
Sounds like a dream. But it wasn’t easy. The lass put in mass efforts to reach where she is today – at 53Kgs. “In this yearlong weight loss journey, I reached my weight loss plateau thrice and those were the times I found myself discouraged. Alternating my workouts with tennis sessions and eating controlled portions of food helped me start losing weight again.” As the body gets used to a certain type of activity, it accommodates itself and barely feels any strain in repeating the activity. Alternate activity of the same strength definitely challenges the body. In 2012, when she finally reached her goal weight, she made a video of her weight loss journey and within two weeks got over a lakh hits. “I soon realised that many people found my struggle to lose weight inspiring. I was not only able to help myself but could help others too.” She also started an FB page where she shared her story, diet plan and other tips to ‘Look Wow!’ “More than 5 lakh visitors have benefitted from my tips. I have more than 97000 followers on FB. I am about to launch a self-help website to motivate, help and support others. The website will be free. I also hold inspirational seminars to motivate more people to achieve their goals.” Well, she is a certified Reebok trainer so you can take her weight loss tips seriously.

So, what are her future goals? Apart from being Ahmedabad’s Health Minister’s daughter and maintaining her appearances at many charity shows and health seminars, she has her academic plans in place. “I am currently pursuing doctorate under the guidance of a professor at IIM-A. I have done MBA from Nirma University, and Bachelors in psychology in St Xavier’s college.” She wants to travel the world and help more people to reach their weight loss goals.
